C. Dudley Brown, a noted interior designer specializing in historic properties and traditional home design, spoke at the Chevy Chase Historic Society's 2008 biennial meeting. His slide-illustrated talk focused on the styles of house decoration during the early days of this streetcar suburb.
Dudley Brown's four decades in restoration and interior design work has included clients such as the Cosmos Club, Australian Ambassador's residence, Glenview Mansion (Rockville), Capital Hill Presbyterian Church, Kent Valentine House (Richmond, VA), and a number of Chevy Chase residences. He was awarded the 2006 Mayor's Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation, served as the first president of the Washington Chapter of the Victorian Society in America, and remains an active member of its Board.
